Essential Bloods Tests
Female Hormone Health – Check blood test measures the concentration of essential female hormones, which play a critical role in regulating fertility, mood and energy. The blood test measures Testosterone, Free Androgen Index, Albumin, Sex hormones Binding Globin, Oestradiol Follicle-Stimulating Hormone, Luteinizing Hormone, FT4.
Well Woman – Test blood test provides comprehensive information about a woman’s health and hormonal status. The blood test includes key test for Full blood count, Kidney function, Liver function, Lipids, Iron levels (Ferritin), Thyroid function, Diabetes (HbA1c), Oestradiol, Testosterone, Sex hormones binding Globulin, Vitamin B12, Vitamin D Folate.
Testosterone Plus measures the level of primary male sex hormones in the blood. Low levels of testosterone can lead to low sex drive and fatigue as well as irregular periods. The blood test measures Testosterone and Sex Hormone binding Globulin (SHBG).
Thyroid Function Advanced helps to rule out if your symptoms are due to an underactive or overactive thyroid. The function of the thyroid glands is related to weight issues, mood problems and fatigue which are some symptoms experienced in perimenopause and menopause. Test includes TSH, T4, T3 and Thyroid Antibodies.
Vitamin D is important for strong bones, teeth, muscles and energy levels. Due to the decline of hormones, women are at risk of Osteoporosis as they lose 10% of bone mass within 5 years. It is vitally important to check Vitamin D levels are within the optimal range.
Primary Ovarian Insufficiency (POI) is to determine hormonal levels in women experiencing perimenopause symptoms under the age of 40 years. The test measures follicle-stimulating hormones.
Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) is designed specifically to assess and evaluate the hormonal and metabolic imbalance associated with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. The blood test measure hormonal levels, Thyroid levels and HbA1c as there is a risk of diabetes.
VHL’s 5 Quick steps to testing success
Step 1 – Inform
Thoroughly read the “instructions for use” leaflet in the box. Register your test, instructions for this are inside the lid of your test kit box.
Step 2 – Prepare
Get your blood moving: drink some water, exercise a little (we like to march on the spot!) and warm your hands by washing them with hot, soapy water.
Step 3 – Fill the Tube
Make sure your blood droplets fill the tubes to the upper line.
Step 4 – Label
Complete the sample labels on a flat surface, remove them and stick them onto the tubes. We can’t test your sample without them.
Step 5 – Post
Remember to put your tubes and completed test request form into the box and post it back to us.
